Springer Spaniel Training

Springer Spaniels love exercise and they love to train and learn. Springer Spaniel training is an excellent way to exercise and train your dog at the same time will increasing the bond with your dog. Springer Spaniels love to please their owners and want to get it right although can be stubborn if trained the wrong way. Coming from the working dog line means that they are easier to train than some other breeds and want to "work" for you, so having regular and fun training sessions with your Springer Spaniel should be rewarding for both you and your Springer!

While there are lots of advanced courses you can go on with your springer such as Gun Dog Training, flyball and Agility to name a few it is important that you start off with a good foundation. I highly recommend the kennel clubs Good Citizen Dog training scheme.

The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme is the largest dog training scheme in the UK and its aim is to promote responsible dog ownership by yourself and also enhance your relationship with your springer spaniel dog.The other aim of the Good Citizen Scheme is to make the community aware of the benefits associated with dog ownership and enhance your knowledge.

Dog training classes are also a great way to socialise your dog and meet other dog owners. So whether you have a beginner puppy or an older dog in need of a refresher class, find a dog training class to suit you with the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme.

The Puppy classes are an excellent way of introducing your dog to others dogs in a controlled manner, by regular interaction with other dogs who are also training to be well behaved you will find you dog does not grow up with problems with other dogs, they will know how to ineract with other dogs again preventing any issues you may come across when your dog is off lead.

After the puppy class there are 3 level bronze, silver and gold. You and your pet must pass a test to start training at the next level, the course is pretty simple however every dog struggles at particular exercises and the trainers will help you get over these hurdles. I noticed with my own dogs that sorting simple issues at class help with other issues when out and about, I say issues but most people would think my dogs are perfect by going to these classes you learn what is correct and want your dog to be the best it can be with a recall that works every time, an emergency down or simple tasks such as sitting and going down the Good Citizen scheme will give you a closer bond with your dog and they will want to please you.
